Lauren A. Reavis Ware, RN, MSN, MBA is a healthcare executive and registered nurse with over 22 years of experience spanning long term care, acute care, management, education, and consulting. She currently serves as Chief Operations Officer for Carolinas Alliance for Residential Excellence Holdings, LLC, overseeing assisted living, memory care, and
independent living in communities across North Carolina and Virginia. A former labor and delivery nurse at Novant Health and adjunct faculty member at Winston-Salem State University, Lauren brings a strong foundation in clinical excellence, operational leadership, and workforce development. She holds degrees from Gardner-Webb University, Wake Forest University, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, including a Master of Science in Nursing Administration, a Master of Business Administration, and Master of Accountancy. A licensed Assisted Living Administrator in both North Carolina and Virginia, Lauren is passionate about quality, compliance, and innovation in senior living, and remains an active participant and contributor to various professional associations and community organizations.

Count Down to April 1, 2025 PCS Per Diem Payment - Steps to Make Sure You Are Prepared For PCS Per Diem Billing

On March 26th from 11 AM - 12 PM, NCSLA hosted Richard Rutherford, LTSS Consulting, for a one-hour review and Q&A on the upcoming Medicaid Personal Care Services (PCS) Per Diem Reimbursement Payment Structure that begins April 1, 2025. Beginning April 1, 2025, NC Medicaid PCS in adult and family care homes will be reimbursed on a per diem (per day) payment structure, rather than the current 15-minute increment, and will the new service will be called Congregate Care Setting services.

On January 29, 2025, NCSLA hosted a webinar presented by NC Medicaid with WRenia Bratts-Brown, Associate Director, Home and Community Based Services and Juanita Jefferson, Personal Care Services Unit Manager regarding the upcoming Medicaid per diem (per day) payment system for Medicaid Personal Care Services (PCS). Effective April 1, 2025, Medicaid PCS in adult and family care homes will be called Congregate Care Setting services and will be reimbursed on a per diem payment structure.

DHHS continues to recommend facilities, residents, families, and visitors adhere to the core principles of COVID-19 infection prevention to mitigate risk associated with potential exposure.  Per CMS and DHHS, facilities must allow indoor visitation at all times and for all residents.
