Her experience has included a focus on IV therapies and anticoagulant dosing, which has informed her comprehensive approach to medication management. In January 2023, Candace stepped into the role of Director of Consulting Services at Southern Pharmacy, where she thrives as a liaison between the pharmacy’s customers and internal teams. On March 26th from 11 AM - 12 PM, NCSLA hosted Richard Rutherford, LTSS Consulting, for a one-hour review and Q&A on the upcoming Medicaid Personal Care Services (PCS) Per Diem Reimbursement Payment Structure that begins April 1, 2025. Beginning April 1, 2025, NC Medicaid PCS in adult and family care homes will be reimbursed on a per diem (per day) payment structure, rather than the current 15-minute increment, and will the new service will be called Congregate Care Setting services.

On January 29, 2025, NCSLA hosted a webinar presented by NC Medicaid with WRenia Bratts-Brown, Associate Director, Home and Community Based Services and Juanita Jefferson, Personal Care Services Unit Manager regarding the upcoming Medicaid per diem (per day) payment system for Medicaid Personal Care Services (PCS).
